Handloom sarees are traditional textile sarees originated from India. The weaving of Handloom Sarees is done on shuttle pit loom made from ropes, wooden beams, and poles.

 

The weaving of handloom sarees is one of India’s cottage industries. The handloom sarees are made up of silk and cotton threads. The process of weaving this saree includes dying and warping. Banarasi Sarees: These sarees are made in the Uttar Pradesh area of India. Most brides take these sarees. The thread used in Banarasi sarees is of silver and golden color. These are heavy sarees which are mainly worn in festivals or weddings. 

 

Chanderi Silk Saree: Chanderi sari is a traditional saree originated in Chanderi of Madhya Pradesh. Chanderi sarees are made in three kinds of fabric i.e. pure silk, Chanderi cotton, and silk cotton. Traditional coin, floral art, peacocks and geometric designs are made into Chanderi patterns. These sarees are one of the finest in India and are known for their gold and silver brocade, fine silk, and lavish embroidery.

 

 Bagh Print Sarees: Bagh Print is a traditional Indian handicraft made in Bagh, Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Block relief prints are used in these sarees for their borders and pallus. 

Sambalpuri saree: It is a traditional saree of Odisha, handwoven ikat wherein the warp and the weft are tie-dyed before weaving.

 

 Kantha Sarees: It is an embroidery craft that is produced in the regions of Bangladesh and West BengalTripura, and Odisha. Kantha means it is a style of necklace that is close to the throat and open at the back. So the sarees are made in such designs. 

 Bandhni sarees: Bandhni sarees are produced in Jaipur, Rajasthan. These sarees are very elegant in look with tye and dye prints. Bright colors are used for making these sarees.
